1. About JOMP

JOMP is a Nigeria-focused digital employment and recruitment platform designed to connect candidates seeking employment with verified employers seeking qualified candidates.

JOMP provides technology and recruitment-support services including candidate profile creation, CV preparation support, skill assessments, candidate certificates, job applications, application tracking, employer verification, document review, and live video interview facilities.

JOMP does not itself employ candidates and does not guarantee employment.

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account, accessing or using JOMP, you agree to these Terms of Service and any policies incorporated into them, including:

  • JOMP Privacy Policy;
  • JOMP Candidate Terms;
  • JOMP Employer Terms;
  • JOMP Cookie Policy; and
  • JOMP Acceptable Use Policy.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use JOMP.

3. Eligibility

JOMP is available only to persons who are at least 18 years old.

By creating an account, you confirm that:

  • you are at least 18 years old;
  • the information you provide is accurate;
  • you are legally capable of entering into these Terms; and
  • you will comply with applicable Nigerian law.

4. Accounts

Users must provide accurate and current information when creating an account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activities conducted through your account.

You must not:

  • create an account using another person's identity;
  • provide false information;
  • create multiple fraudulent accounts;
  • impersonate another person or organisation; or
  • allow another person to use your account where doing so creates a security or compliance risk.

JOMP may require additional verification where reasonably necessary.

5. JOMP's Role

JOMP provides a technology platform through which:

  1. employers may create verified employer accounts;
  2. employers may publish vacancies;
  3. candidates may create employment profiles;
  4. candidates may receive CV-preparation support;
  5. candidates may complete skill assessments;
  6. candidates may receive JOMP-issued assessment certificates where applicable;
  7. candidates may submit applications;
  8. employers may review submitted information and documents;
  9. employers may conduct live video interviews through JOMP;
  10. employers may accept or decline candidates; and
  11. candidates may track application outcomes and relevant resumption information.

JOMP does not become the employer of any candidate merely because the candidate was discovered, interviewed, selected or hired through JOMP.

6. No Guarantee of Employment

JOMP does not guarantee:

  • that a candidate will receive an interview;
  • that an employer will accept a candidate;
  • that a vacancy will remain available;
  • that a candidate will be hired;
  • that an employer will employ a candidate for any particular period; or
  • that any particular salary, benefit or employment condition will be offered.

Employment decisions are made by the relevant employer.

7. Employer Verification

Employers must complete JOMP's verification process before they may access employer features designated by JOMP, including vacancy posting and live video interview functionality.

The current employer verification fee is ₦15,000 per year, subject to any updated fee displayed by JOMP.

JOMP may request documents and information reasonably required to verify an employer, including:

  • CAC registration documents;
  • relevant business registration information;
  • trademark documentation where applicable;
  • identification of authorised representatives;
  • business address information;
  • relevant licences or regulatory documents where applicable; and
  • other information reasonably required for verification.

Payment of the verification fee does not automatically guarantee approval.

Verification fees are generally non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law or expressly approved by JOMP.

JOMP may suspend or revoke verification where information is false, misleading, expired, fraudulent or materially changed.

8. Job Vacancies

Verified employers may post vacancies without a standard posting fee unless JOMP introduces a different fee structure.

JOMP may offer optional paid vacancy-boosting or promotional services. Applicable prices will be displayed before purchase.

JOMP may remove or restrict vacancies that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.

9. Candidate Applications

Candidates may apply for vacancies by submitting the information and documents requested for the relevant position.

JOMP may facilitate the submission of:

  • CVs;
  • highest educational qualification;
  • previous work experience;
  • portfolios where applicable;
  • skill-assessment results and certificates; and
  • other documents reasonably required for a particular vacancy.

Candidates are responsible for ensuring that information and documents submitted are accurate and authentic.

10. Interviews

JOMP may provide a live video interview facility to verified employers.

JOMP does not record or store video interviews unless its policies are lawfully changed and users are appropriately notified.

JOMP provides the technology for the interview but does not control the substance of conversations between candidates and employers.

11. Application Status

Where an employer makes a hiring decision through JOMP, the candidate's application record may display statuses such as:

  • Application submitted;
  • Under review;
  • Interview;
  • Accepted; or
  • Declined.

Where an employer provides a proposed resumption date, time, location or other relevant information, JOMP may display that information in the candidate's account or notifications.

12. Candidate Services

JOMP may provide CV-preparation assistance and skill assessments.

A skill assessment may result in a certificate being issued and associated with the candidate's JOMP profile.

A JOMP skill certificate confirms completion or achievement under JOMP's assessment system. It does not constitute a government qualification, professional licence or guarantee of employment unless expressly stated otherwise.

13. Free and Premium Features

Candidates may currently use JOMP without paying a subscription fee.

JOMP may introduce premium services in the future. Where applicable, JOMP will display the relevant price and feature description before purchase.

14. Privacy

JOMP processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable Nigerian data-protection law.

Users should review the Privacy Policy before using JOMP.

15. Intellectual Property

JOMP and its licensors retain rights in JOMP's software, branding, logos, designs, databases, interfaces, content and other proprietary materials.

Users retain ownership of content they lawfully own and upload to JOMP, subject to the licences reasonably necessary for JOMP to provide its services.

Users must not copy, reproduce, reverse engineer, distribute, sell or commercially exploit JOMP's proprietary technology without permission.

16. Prohibited Conduct

Users must comply with the JOMP Acceptable Use Policy.

Prohibited conduct includes fraud, impersonation, fake documents, fraudulent vacancies, harassment, discrimination, unauthorised access, malicious software, abuse of other users and misuse of JOMP.

17. Suspension and Termination

JOMP may suspend, restrict or terminate an account where it reasonably believes that:

  • the user violated these Terms;
  • information supplied is fraudulent or misleading;
  • the account creates a security or legal risk;
  • the user has engaged in abusive or fraudulent conduct; or
  • suspension is necessary to protect users or JOMP.

Where appropriate, JOMP may provide an opportunity to appeal.

18. Disclaimers

JOMP provides its platform on an evolving technology basis.

JOMP does not guarantee that:

  • the platform will always be available;
  • every vacancy will remain open;
  • every employer or candidate will behave appropriately;
  • every document submitted by another user is genuine; or
  • platform features will always operate without interruption.

JOMP will take reasonable measures to maintain the security and reliability of its services.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, JOMP will not be responsible for losses arising solely from:

  • decisions made independently by employers or candidates;
  • inaccurate information submitted by users;
  • employment relationships entered into between users;
  • conduct occurring outside JOMP's reasonable control; or
  • interruptions caused by circumstances beyond JOMP's reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

20. Changes to JOMP

JOMP may modify its services, features, fees and policies.

Where a material change affects users' rights or obligations, JOMP will provide reasonable notice through the platform or another appropriate method.

21. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Any dispute shall be handled in accordance with applicable Nigerian law and the dispute-resolution procedure specified by JOMP or otherwise applicable by law.
